McGlinn Hall

McGlinn Hall

Constructed in 1997 as a women’s residence hall through the contributions of Terrance and Barbara McGlinn, McGlinn Hall is located on the West Quad near McGlinn Fields. The women of McGlinn participate in numerous service events and are extremely involved with the students of Saint Adalbert Catholic School in South Bend. Each year, McGlinn residents raise money for the school through the hall’s annual Casino Night and tutor students every week throughout the academic year. McGlinn is also known for its camaraderie, winning the Kelly Cup, awarded to the women’s hall that best exemplifies the spirit of RecSports’ interhall participation, sportsmanship, and competition, more than any other female hall to date.

Elizabeth Clarke

Originally from Cleveland Heights, Ohio, Elizabeth graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Dayton. At UD, she studied abroad in Perth, Australia, and worked for both the President’s Office and Campus Ministry. These experiences sparked Elizabeth’s interest in Catholic Higher Education, specifically in Student Affairs. After graduating, Elizabeth completed a master’s degree in Theology at Notre Dame through the Echo Graduate Service Program. During her time in Echo, she lived in an intentional community and worked with various ministries at Mary Queen Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. Following her time in Texas, Elizabeth returned to Notre Dame to pursue a Master of Divinity degree. Elizabeth served in several ministerial roles during her time in graduate school, including teaching a Moreau Class, serving as an Assistant Rector, and supporting Notre Dame’s People with Hope to Bring Lilly Endowment Grant. During both Echo and the MDiv, Elizabeth’s own experiences in formation developed her love for the beautiful work of formation with undergraduate students. You can find Elizabeth walking her Golden Retriever, Rockne, around campus, spending time with family and friends, and cheering on the Fighting Irish.

Elizabeth shared her thoughts on serving as a Rector: “I am so excited to serve as a Rector at the University of Notre Dame. I feel honored to stand on the shoulders of Rectors before me who have witnessed how to preserve and advance the rich traditions found in Notre Dame’s distinctive residential experience and inspired my call to this role. Together, with members of the dorm, I feel privileged to lead and build a community grounded in the pillars of Holy Cross’s tradition of Catholic education. I am grateful for the opportunity to continue this mission of educating both the minds and hearts of students entrusted to our care. I’m looking forward to sharing life with the Shamrocks of McGlinn Hall!
