Senior Administrative Assistant of Residential Life
Claire is delighted to be able to bring her gifts learned in a life of service to the Office of Residential Life at Notre Dame. As a parent, she has experienced the joys and challenges of raising children, watching them grow and develop into independent adults. She looks forward to adding her skills to a team that supports both students and parents as they travel that path as part of the Notre Dame community.
Claire grew up in Fairview Park, OH a suburb on the west side of Cleveland. Surrounded by extended family she learned the importance of faith and faith tradition as the center of the home and family. Claire and her husband Dave have lived in several different locations during their 36 year marriage in Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and even a short stint in Vermont. This new chapter that brings them to South Bend means that they will be closer to family and enable them to be part of the daily lives of their daughter, son-in-law and two adorable grandchildren.
During her years working as a volunteer and CRE for several Catholic parishes, she grew in her appreciation of the role that faith, faith community and Catholic identity play in the formation of young adults. Re-locating several times has given her an insight into the struggles of a person feels in a brand new environment. Working as part of the Residential Life team will enable her to use her skills and experience to further the mission of educating and forming the young people entrusted to our care.
When asked what she is most looking forward to about joining the ND community Claire said, “I have already experienced the welcoming supportive network that ND provides to all who fall under its umbrella. As the parent of two ND alums I have met many people from the university and community that have accepted and welcomed me as family. I look forward to joining that group and reaching out to include more and more people to the circle.”
