Director of Residential Life: Residential Education


Beginning in 2014, Margaret Morgan oversees 12 residence halls working closely with the Rectors and hall staff. She has primary responsibility for hall staff education. Along with these efforts, Margaret also spearheads many initiatives for Academic Integration in our residential communities, including the Faculty Fellows, Faculty in Residence and all Residentially Based courses. 

Margaret’s background in higher education includes her three years of service as Rector as well as concurrent appointments working in Campus Ministry as Senior Retreat Coordinator and Fides Mentor Formation Director; Program Coordinator for Break Immersions at the Center for Social Concerns (CSC); faculty for the CSC Service-Learning Program teaching Leadership in Mission. Previously, she served for two years as faculty with the Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE) program teaching Religion in Charlotte Catholic High School and more recently teaching Religion to summer ACE Master’s students.Margaret’s committee participation in the division of Student Affairs has included: Campus Life Council; Alcohol Task Group; Future Staffing Models Task Group; Residential Life Assessment Committee; Future of Residential Life Committee; and STAR-ND. Moreover, she has presented on campus on a range of topics, namely: Meyers Briggs Type Indicator workshops; a comparison of student development and pastoral theories; a pastoral approach to alcohol abuse; supporting survivors of sexual assault; and ally training featuring a pastoral response to LGBTQ issues.

Margaret earned her Bachelor of Arts in Theology from Notre Dame as well as a Master’s in Education and a Master of Divinity from the University of Notre Dame.
