Use of On-Campus Housing

Summer on-campus housing is allocated for six specific group/event types. If you believe group/event does not fit into one of these categories, you are strongly encouraged to reach out to the Office of Residential Life (summer@nd.edu) to schedule a time to discuss your group/event and determine if on-campus housing is an option for you.

Below are the six group/event types which can reserve on-campus summer housing:

  • Undergraduate students enrolled in summer credit
  • Graduate students enrolled in summer credit
  • Adult conference participants engaged in a ND-sponsored event
  • High school students enrolled in Notre Dame academic summer programs
  • High school students participating in Notre Dame sponsored, mission-related summer programs
  • Participants in Notre Dame sponsored sports camps

Allocation of Summer Housing Facilities

The Office of Residential Life coordinates space requests for nearly one hundred summer groups alongside the general maintenance, housekeeping, and renovation work of the residence hall facilities on-campus. Because of this, we cannot accept requests for specific residence halls on-campus, including requests for air-conditioning or non air-conditioned halls. Once we receive all requests for summer housing space, the Office of Residential Life will allocate specific facilities to the different group/event types for the upcoming summer and begin the hiring and training process for summer hall staff. We do our best to ensure that similar groups/events receive similar facilities each summer.
