First Year Students

Move In 2012 0009 1

We look forward to welcoming you to campus in August. As you prepare to make your way to campus, please take a moment to read the following carefully for important information on the Move-In process. Please contact the Office of Residential Life at residentiallife@nd.edu or (574) 631-5878 if you have additional questions.

First Year Students

First year students will move in on Friday, August 18. Additional information regarding move-in day will be available soon. More detailed information regarding your arrival time will be shared with your room assignment in July. First Year students are not permitted to arrive early for any reason, unless they are part of an approved University program who will submit an early arrival request on their behalf.

First Year International Students

Undergraduate International Students living on-campus and attending International Student Orientation must register through the Office of International Student and Scholar Affairs. For more information on International Student Orientation, please contact ISSA at ISSA@nd.edu.

Arrival Times

Residential Life is asking that students register for an Arrival Time in Home Under the Dome that best fits their travel plans; Residential Life will share additional information for First Year Arrival Times after First Year housing assignments are sent in July. Arrival Times will better manage traffic flow to the Unloading Zones at the residence halls through our staging lots and campus gates. Students should sign up in Home Under the Dome for an Arrival Time where they will be able to access Unloading Zones during a 60-minute window at their residence hall. While staging lots are open, students who have signed up for an Arrival Time will be allowed to access the Unloading Zones at their hall. If you do not register for an Arrival Time on your move-in day you will be asked to park in a perimeter parking lot and walk on to campus.

First year student arrival times are spread out so that hall staff may welcome students to their hall. We are encouraging students to review the number of students arriving during their time for planning purposes. The more students registered for an Arrival Time, the longer your wait will be in staging lots to access Unloading Zones. Staging lot staff will release you to the hall if space is available. You may also walk on to campus after your Arrival Time from any perimeter parking lot.
