Erin Riordan serves as the Assistant Director for Residential Education, which includes coordinating the development of student hall staff, serving as the Activities Liaison for residential programming, and is the Advisor to the Hall Presidents Council (HPC).

Erin originally hails from West Virginia, and spent the first 26 years of her life living and working in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. After graduating magna cum laude and obtaining a Masters of Arts in Communications from Ohio University, she served her local community in AmeriCorps, promoting student involvement and retention at a community college for one of the nation’s most economically vulnerable rural populations. After joining the staff at Marietta College (Marietta, OH) in 2014, she led the school and its student groups to numerous national awards for student involvement and programming. Erin joined the University of Notre Dame as the Assistant Director for Student Involvement in the Student Activities Office (2017-2023), responsible for the oversight of 500+ student groups, coordinating major campus-wide events, and designing and facilitating a variety of leadership development workshops and trainings.

Erin brings several years of experience in higher education and leadership, a passion for helping students achieve success, and a unique outlook born from her Appalachian roots. In her free time, Erin enjoys spoiling her elderly orange cat, exploring local eateries and live music, hiking through forests and nature, and practicing her watercolor painting.
