When Should I Apply for Summer Housing?

Please refer to the category in which you fall as a student as it relates to when to complete your summer housing application:

Self-Pay Individual Students: Students who are covering their own housing costs, and not part of coordinated group, are encouraged to complete their summer housing application as soon as they are able to access it at homeunderthedome.nd.edu. Students in this category will be asked to indicate their specific arrival and departure dates, select their room type preference, submit a roommate request (if applicable), in addition to providing personal details, emergency contact information, and confirming agreement to the housing contract.

Self-Pay Group Students*: Students who are part of a group, but covering their own housing costs, will wait to hear from a group or program coordinator when to go ahead and complete the summer housing application. Once this communication happens, students should complete this as soon as possible. Historically, this has included specific REU programs, EMNA - Mendoza College of Business graduate students, and MA Theology graduate students. Students in this category will be asked to indicate their specific arrival and departure dates, select their room type preference, submit a roommate request (if applicable), in addition to providing personal details, emergency contact information, and confirming agreement to the housing contract.

Departmental Pay Students*: Students who are part of a group and are having their housing costs covered/subsidized by a department on campus, will wait for direction from a group or program coordinator to go ahead and complete the summer housing applicaton. For purposes of signing the housing contract, providing reason for summer housing and emergency contact information, this should be completed prior to arriving to campus for their summer housing assignment. Historically, this has included several undegradate groups: REU programs, matriculation programs, student counselors for several academic (Pre-College, IEP, Career Discovery in Architecture, etc.) and mission-based residential programs (ND Vision, DNA Center Summer Camps, etc.) for minor-focused programs AND several graduate student groups (ACE Teaching Fellows, Remick Leadership, ENL, PIE, Echo Summer Programs, etc.). Students in this category will be asked to provide personal details, emergency contact information, and confirming agreement to the housing contract. Other assignment information will be determined by the group coordinating their residential program.

*Summer Housing will be in contact with department coordinators regarding student information to correctly identify students as a part of a group (whether self-pay or departmental pay) within housing system prior to any students in these groups applying.

The Summer Housing Application generally opens mid-to-late April each year for the upcoming summer.

For Summer 2024,The Summer Housing Application will open at homeunderthedome.nd.edu on April 15, 2024 at 11 a.m. EDT.
