Ryan Hall

Ryan Hall

Established in 2009, Ryan Hall is named in honor of the Ryan family and was built in the spirit of accommodation and accessibility for students with disabilities. With signature events such as Wheelchair Basketball, Relay for Life, and Caring Cats Clothing Collection to benefit St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Joseph County, the women of Ryan are dedicated to serving the local South Bend community. One major tradition in Ryan occurs every Tuesday night when Ryan Hall’s Priest-in-Residence, Fr. Joe Carey, C.S.C., hosts Ryan Hall residents for “FJ’s," an ice cream and cookie social in his apartment in which all treats are baked from scratch. Ryan was last named Hall of the Year in 2013-2014.

Ally Liedtke is a Pacific Northwest native who grew up in Seattle, WA and attended college in Portland, OR. She graduated from the University of Portland (UP) with a Bachelor of Arts in Theology and a minor in Computer Science. After graduation, Ally served at St. Mary Student Parish, the Catholic Campus Ministry for the University of Michigan. During this time, Ally worked with undergraduate students in the area of social justice education, leadership development, and faith formation. Ally continued her journey at Boston College (BC), where she pursued a Master of Arts in Higher Education with a concentration in spirituality, faith, and formation. Her academic interests include Catholic higher education, student development, and the intersection of faith and justice. She also spent the last two years in BC’s Campus Ministry, serving as the Graduate Assistant for Appa Volunteers - a spring break service immersion program. In her free time, Ally enjoys finding the best coffee in town, exploring new parks with her dog, Bella, playing any and every game, and spending time with friends.

In looking towards the upcoming school year, Ally said: “I am beyond excited to be joining the Notre Dame community as the Rector of Ryan Hall! My residence hall at the University of Portland was the hallmark of my undergraduate experience and I have looked forward to returning to work of residence life ever since I graduated. I am honored to be serving the students of Ryan Hall and I hope to lead and accompany our community with love, enthusiasm, and grace. I look forward to getting to know each member of the community as well as the unique traditions that make Ryan Hall the best hall on campus! Ultimately, I am excited to share life with our students – to laugh, pray, grow, and learn together. Go Wildcats!”
