Late Departure Extension Requests
Residence Halls close for the spring semester 24 hours after your last final or Saturday, May 11 at 12:00 p.m. Students should make all travel arrangements based on their exam and hall closing schedule. Residential Life will not approve housing extensions for students due to improper planning or travel arrangements. Students and staff or faculty may request late departure based on the criteria below. Residential Life will review all requests; submission of the request is not a guarantee of approval. Students applying for late departure through a group assisting with commencement activites should not fill out an individial request. The affiliated group will submit the request on the students behalf.

Criteria
Graduating Seniors
Graduating seniors living on campus are automatically granted a late departure to participate in senior week activities and commencement. Graduating seniors do not need to complete a housing extension form and will have access to their residence hall room until Monday, May 20 at 12:00 p.m.
Siblings and Fiancé(e)
Underclass siblings or fiancé(e) of graduating students may request a housing extension by April 1, 2024. The request should be submitted by the underclass sibling/fiancé(e) and include the name and NetID of the graduating sibling to be considered. Housing extensions are not available to cousins, girlfriends/boyfriends, or friends. Any violation of University policy during the housing extension, however minor, may result in immediate loss of housing privileges and a referral to the University Conduct Process. Residential Life will review all requests; submission of the request is not a guarantee of approval. Students may log into thier Home Under the Dome account to submit a request found at the link called Spring 2024 - Move-Out.

The Late Departure Extension process closes on April 1, 2024.
University Groups
Faculty or staff may submit a late departure request for their students supporting official Commencement Weekend activities. The form can be accessed HERE . It is the responsibility of the group administrator (staff or faculty) for the student's department or official campus organization to complete the late departure request form. Group requests from students will not be considered. All university groups must submit the housing extension request form by April 1, 2024. If approved, students will be permitted to remain in their current, on-campus assignment until Monday, May 20, until 12:00 p.m. Group administrators are responsible for the behavior of their group members. Any violation of University policy during this period, however minor, may result in immediate loss of housing privileges and a referral to the University Conduct Process.
